Data and uploads

Do I need to connect my Amazon account?

No. Trestle has no link to your Amazon or Argos account. You upload the reports you download from Seller Central, as they are, in Excel, CSV or text.

What do I need to upload?

Your Amazon All Listings report, a sales sheet with units and sales for each product, and your product costs. Once you sell on Argos, add your Argos order export.

Do I have to reformat my files?

No. Trestle matches the column headings itself and shows you how it read each one. Rows it cannot use are listed with the reason, so you can fix them and upload again.

What if a figure is missing?

Trestle never fills in a zero. The product shows "Need more info" and says exactly which figure to add.

How do I enter my advertising spend?

Enter your TACoS as Amazon shows it: ad spend divided by total sales including VAT. Trestle converts it for its own sums.

What if I fulfil orders myself?

Trestle reads whether each Amazon listing is fulfilled by Amazon or by you. For Argos orders, Trestle assumes you send them through Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) from your FBA stock, costs that from Amazon's MCF rate card and labels it as an assumption. Enter your 3PL cost per unit and it uses that instead. Check Argos's current terms on packaging and carriers.

Can I use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment for Argos orders?

Trestle cannot confirm Argos's rules on this; check Argos's current terms on packaging and carriers. In its sums, Trestle assumes Argos orders go through MCF from your FBA stock, costed from Amazon's MCF rate card with FBA storage included, and labels that as an assumption. If you use a 3PL, enter its cost per unit and Trestle uses that instead.

Do my Argos SKUs need to match my Amazon SKUs?

Yes, for now. Trestle links an Argos order to a product by its SKU.

Results and verdicts

What do the verdicts mean?

Ready to list, Worth a trial, Keep an eye on it, Not a fit, or Need more info. Each comes with the reason in plain words. See how Trestle works.

What is extra monthly income?

What a product could add each month on the new marketplace, after its fees, delivery, returns and advertising, and after taking off sales that would have happened on Amazon anyway. It is shown as a low-to-high range.

How accurate are the numbers?

Amazon fees come from Amazon's published rate cards, Argos fees from the category rates Trestle holds (any still awaiting confirmation is marked), and sales and costs from your own reports. Where Trestle has to assume something, it says so and shows the date it should be reviewed. Results are ranges, not promises.

Can I check the forecast later?

Yes. Record your decision in the decisions ledger. When you upload your Argos order export, each live product shows its real sales against the forecast.

What do alerts watch?

Changes between uploads: stock running low, take-home or extra monthly income falling, refunds rising, ad spend, price, category and title changes, and Amazon changes that alter an Argos verdict.

Is this financial advice?

No. Trestle gives you the figures and a recommendation to support your own decision.

Pricing and billing

How much does Trestle cost?

£99 one-off for the Expansion Audit, with 30 days to explore the results, or £29 a month for Trestle. Both exclude VAT, which is added at checkout. See pricing.

Is there a limit on products?

No. The price is the same whatever the size of your catalogue.

How do I cancel?

From Billing in Trestle. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for.

Is there a free trial?

No, but the demo is free, uses sample data and needs no account.

Marketplaces

Which marketplaces does it work with?

Amazon UK as the marketplace you sell on now, and Argos as the first new one. Fruugo and marketplaces on the Mirakl network are next. Each marketplace's own fees and rules are used for its side of the sum. Read the Argos guide.

Is Trestle part of Amazon or Argos?

No. Trestle is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any marketplace.

Security and privacy

What data does Trestle read?

Only the figures it needs from the files you upload: sales, fees, stock and costs. Each file is read and not stored; only the figures are kept. Customer fields in an Argos order export are stripped out, and Trestle never asks for your customers' details.

Can Trestle change my listings?

No. Trestle is read-only and has no link to your marketplace accounts. It never changes your listings, prices or orders.

How do I sign in?

With your password, then a passkey or a code we email you. You can add an authenticator app too.

Can my team use it?

Yes. Invite colleagues by email to the same seller account. Each person has their own sign-in.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. An account owner can delete a store from inside Trestle. It is deleted 14 days later, so you can change your mind. You can also email us.

How is my data handled?

Under UK GDPR. See our Privacy Policy.
